![]() ![]() Tempode was designed to work stand-alone or as an add-on for clockless controllers like the Voodoo Lab Ground Control or Rocktron MIDImate. The difference is that Master Control also sends out Program Change to call up presets. Yes, Master Control sends out MIDI Clock just like Tempode. The H9 can be set to slave to an external MIDI Clock as shown in this video: When the clock source issues a Start command, the III responds by playing all loops that were playing when the last Stop command was received." "When the clock source issues a Stop command, the III responds by issuing an internal Play-Stop All command and all playing loops stop. You also need MIDI Start and Stop to control pattern resets on the MURF and loop Start and Stop on the Rang: If there it's there, every pedal will get it, regardless of which MIDI Channel it is on. Keep in mind that MIDI Clock is not channel-specific. But you don't always want to use MIDI Clock, for example if you want a really fast independent delay time, with some pedals the presence of MIDI Clock can make that impossible. You want to be able to manually start and stop MIDI Clock because many pedals will automatically sync to MIDI Clock if it is available. I don't know the answers to these questions and they are not addressed in the manual. The questions to ask are:ġ) Does it send MIDI Clock even if you are not using a time-based preset?Ģ) Does the H9 always send MIDI Start and MIDI Stop commands when calling up presets?ģ) Does it send MIDI Start and Stop commands at all?Ĥ) Can you Start and Stop the MIDI Clock without changing presets?ĥ) Can you store an independent tempo for each program?Ħ) Is MIDI Clock always the absolute top priority for the processor so that it remains stable? The H9 can generate MIDI Clock, but the manual is very vague as to the circumstances under which that happens. ![]() Do I really need both a clock generator and an auxiliary switch? Similarly, DMC's Smartclock would be great, but doesn't have the auxiliary switches I need. Tl dr: does the H9 work as a MIDI clock hub?Īnd, if not, is there a single unit (looking at you, Molten Voltage and DMC) that could replace my T1M auxiliary switch and ALSO provide MIDI clock sourcing? The Tempode from MV is great, but I don't have that much room left for something like that. I just received my Rang III in the mail-had Mike do the update so it accepts MIDI clock-so I think everything should accept the pings. I know very little about MIDI codes, CC messages, &c, so any advice on how to do this would be appreciated. I'm using a MIDI Solutions Quadra Thru splitter, so I should be able to run the clock out of my H9 into the splitter, then individual cables into each pedal. I'm confused as to whether or not that's possible. I'm trying to sync up all of the MIDI compatible pedals on my board (Boomerang III, MIDI MuRF, Moog MF-104M, and a Kaoss Pad) to one MIDI clock pulse. The H9 MAX features stereo audio I/O, MIDI I/O, Expression Pedal, and Auxiliary Switch inputs. Is anyone using their H9 as a MIDI clock source? I know it can transmit MIDI clock. H9 MAX even connects via Bluetooth to iPods, iPhones and iPads for wireless live control. Use the H9 MAX Control app for live editing, creating and managing presets, and changing system settings. While the H9 MAX is fully controllable via its front panel, a free editor/librarian, H9 MAX Control, can be downloaded to your Mac, PC, or iOS device. Two onboard Footswitches let you change Presets, Tap Tempo, and Bypass with your feet during live performance. The H9 MAX features a simple, one-knob user interface which allows easy Effect Editing and Preset Selection. Built-in tuner, true bypass, MIDI, and shares algorithms with up to 4 other H9s on one account. Wireless control via Bluetooth using H9 Control app on Windows, OSX, and iOS. Ships with 99 factory presets inside (all others available through H9 Control app). The H9 MAX includes all 45 algorithms and associated presets from Space, TimeFactor, PitchFactor, and ModFactor, plus UltraTap Delay, Resonator, and Compressor EQ.
